The ICGC will participate in the Barcelona 2025 Talent Arena with a practical workshop on the use of Earth Observation data to address environmental and urban challenges. The objective of the workshop is to train participants in the transformation of satellite data into useful knowledge for decision-making.

The workshop, which will feature the expertise of Dr. Jordi Corbera, head of the Earth Observation Area of ​​the ICGC, will provide tools and methodologies for the analysis and interpretation of spatial data. It will work with open access datasets and tools, such as the new  MENUT viewer, developed by the ICGC, which allows the consultation and download of processed images from the first Earth Observation mission promoted by the Government of Catalonia and managed by the Institute of Space Studies of Catalonia (IEEC).

Talent Arena and the promotion of Catalonia's NewSpace strategy

The Talent Arena, organized by the Mobile World Capital Barcelona, is a platform that connects emerging talent with innovation and technology challenges in areas such as space, sustainability and digital transformation. The ICGC participates with the aim of contributing to the training of new professionals and the development of innovative solutions in the geospatial field.

This workshop is part of the NewSpace Strategy of Catalonia, promoted by the Government through the Secretariat of Digital Policies and with the collaboration of the IEEC, the ICGC and the i2CAT Foundation. This initiative aims to position Catalonia as a benchmark in the new space economy, combining space and digital technologies to strengthen the Catalan space ecosystem and promote the generation of knowledge with social and business application.

With this participation, the ICGC reaffirms its commitment to Earth Observation and technological innovation as fundamental tools for sustainable development and data-based decision-making.
